FEED Media Art Center and Erie Art Company are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the OPENFEED Artist Residency 2025 project, a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives. This achievement would not have been possible without the invaluable support of civic leaders, local community members, and foundations, who share our vision for a vibrant and inclusive arts scene.

Grant funding has been instrumental in providing a stipend for the Artist, publishing open calls, purchasing Technology assets, and covering project-specific requirements, as well as software licenses and compensation for technical crew and subject matter experts. We are proud to have brought together over 5 international artists from diverse backgrounds, including Nigeria, Japan, and New York, and paired them with local artists and entrepreneurs. Through our innovative Sandbox Residency program, we have provided a free studio space for artists to create, learn, and experiment with media arts, supporting 6 residency artists and training over 20 individuals in media basics. We extend our deepest gratitude to our volunteers and community members who have selflessly contributed their time and energy to our mission, including Yeshuwa Myers, Sarah Howard, Edward Patrick Kranz, Aaron T. Pacy, darawretch, Ren Richardson, Ali Ford, and Lee Lucian. ( if I missed you, please message me and tell me what the hell Brad?)

We are also honored to have received validation from the ECGRA – Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority and its anchor building grant, which will enable us to embark on an exciting new project: installing a gigantic LED screen on our front façade, transforming our building into a beacon of creativity and innovation in Erie. As we look to the future, we are excited to share our ambitious goals for 2026, which include the development of a media archive data center, where we can capture, archive, and record all forms of art on a 9 PB scale. We invite local universities, institutions, and private foundations to join us in this endeavor and collaborate on this groundbreaking project.

With the continued support of our community and the visionary leadership of FEED Founder Benton C. Bainbridge, we are confident that we can drive positive change and propel Erie towards a brighter, more vibrant future.
